Chris performed a number of tasks related to the maintenance and expansion of Endevor in our environment:

  • Development of Endevor processors for automating the process for moving Shadow middleware integrating items to Production
  • Upgrade of our environment to Endevor R14
  • Development of “Back out” facility for restoring Shadow middleware items to prior version using Endevor
  • Development of Endevor processors to accommodate an in-house “scrubber” to check the JCL of changes
  • Development of an Easytrieve DB2 Generate processor
  • Training of personnel in Endevor, including introducing a team member with no prior Endevor experience to concepts, and “lab exercises” to help this employee learn the basics.

Chris is conscientious and professional. He was punctual and always confirmed his travel arrangements ahead of time. He has a very engaging personality and he did not hesitate to reach out for assistance or clarification when needed. He showed a high degree of autonomy and would work professionally with minimal supervision.

Attention to detail: Extremely detail-oriented, very technical and making sure all aspects of our Endevor deployment and processor development were done to the highest professional standards.

      Accuracy in processing information: Very accurate. I cannot recall any time that he misunderstood
    what was asked or failed to get the information he needed.

      Written communication skills: Chris is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently: Chris worked extremely well with minimal supervision during the contract term.

Problem Solving Skills: Chris is not only highly technical but he also is very proficient at working with vendors and other professionals in his personal network to find the right solution.

      Ability to predict needs early: Chris escalated all his needs to me in a timely fashion.

      Handling multiple tasks: Chris handled fifteen discrete initiatives for us simultaneously without
     dropping the ball.

Met continues deadlines. Chris met deadlines consistently. When circumstances beyond his control elongated a timeline, he was very prompt to advise us.

 

What would you say are his/her strengths? He is extremely personable and engaging. He is easy to work with and very organized.

 

In what areas could he/she improve? Among the skills he/she was asked to use regularly, what were the weakest with? I don’t have anything to add here. Chris is a great worker and has a great personality.

 

 

What was his/her reason for leaving? We only engaged him for a short-term contract and did not have budget to keep him on.

Describe the work or project(s) he/she was working on and their responsibilities. (Please be as technically specific as possible) Multiple projects supporting the Electronic Payments (ACH) Application. Chris was our Endevor Architect and Administrator. Chris joined Pariter shortly after the company was created and was responsible for laying out the code migration approach that would support multiple internal and external testing environments along with a dual path production approach.

Chris has two very strong attributes - number one, he knows Endevor very well and number two - he has a great approach to work. Chris was extremely successful at Pariter in laying out our migration strategy along with supporting it as folks learned the procedures, etc.

How would his/her staff describe his/her management/supervisory style? (if applicable)

Chris demonstrated very strong leadership skills in this position. He was in front of senior management presenting his strategy and then fielding questions or concerns voiced by the management team. Chris has a very calm approach to questions even when others were not as calm. Chris was able to identify what was confusing folks and filled in the blanks to get everyone on board.

 

How would you describe his/her success in training, developing, and motivating staff? (if applicable)

Chris did an excellent job in training the development team on the procedures needed to support the migration strategy we chose to leverage. Chris provided good diagrams of physical environment and how the Endevor libraries would support those environments. We had an intense approach as we were supporting multiple internal testing environments, multiple customer testing environments and a versioned production environment that supported current and current -1 versions of the application.

Oral communication skills:  Because Chris is so comfortable with Endevor, he presents himself as confident but yet open. Chris does an outstanding job of determining what info is being misunderstood and clarifies to resolve any drama or conflict that might arise during discussions.

Ability to work independently:  Excellent - Chris worked with minimal supervision from me and did a great job of keeping me and others informed of progress and critical success factors.

Problem Solving Skills:  Chris is very flexible in his approach and does a great job of finding options when an issues does arise. His knowledge of the tool-set makes him invaluable when issues did arise.

Ability to predict needs early:  Chris was constantly monitoring our environments for any performance issues and would work with our Infrastructure team to ensure we were covered long before we had issues.

      Handling multiple tasks:  Chris had a number of responsibilities outside of Endevor and he was always on schedule.

Initiative: I really appreciated the fact that Chris was a self starter. I set a direction and he would run with it. If he found we needed a tool or some experience in a new area, Chris would chase down an expert to assist. Often those experts were outside our organization and he would leverage his past peers to get the info we needed.

Chris did not have any opportunities to work with External Customers. For the internal team, Chris was very supportive and had a very friendly customer-service approach. Chris is very patient and is very clear in his instruction/communication.

I would have no concerns with Chris representing us with a client. Chris did an excellent job in front of the Senior Management team and they were much tougher than any client would be.

Chris is very reliable. In our work scenario, Chris was commuting to Minneapolis and even in extreme weather, he would make arrangements so that staff or management could reach him.

Chris paid attention to deadlines and actively worked to ensure his time-frames would be met. If there were issues that would cause a delay, Chris was very quick to inform me so we could come up with alternatives or communicate the delay.
